With so much work in this great country, it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to planning a trip to the United States. World-class cities, some known for their history and others are known for their entertainment or glamour, offer visitors a wide range of places to choose from. The best places to visit in the United States may simply depend on your personal interests.
Along the East Coast, New York and Washington, D.C offer two different unique city experiences. Along the West Coast, San Francisco and Los Angeles are two hotspots for tourists. In the southwest, Las Vegas is experiencing desert and Grand Canyon showcases one of nature's greatest creations. In addition to the mainland, there are waikiki beaches and tropical Hawaiian islands. These are just a few important places, but wonderful destinations for any type of traveler can be found all over the country.

1. New York
New York is like no other city in the world, and one that needs to be experienced in order to be fully appreciated. For new visitors, it can be like going through a series of movies, with well-known locations at every turn, from the Empire State Building, to Rockefeller Plaza, the Chrysler Building, Central Park, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Broadway and, of course, the Statue of Liberty.
Watch during the day, enjoy a Broadway show at night, walk around in time to shop and relax and remember great food. This is New York. With too much to see and do on the day or weekend, this city is worth a visit again and again.
2. The Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the nonpartisan bucket lists that have attracted visitors for generations. As the canyon walls on the endless horizon and unmistakable depth below is one of the highlights of any trip to the United States.
A visit to the Grand Canyon can easily be made on a day trip from Las Vegas or Phoenix, and some smaller cities nearby, or included in a larger tour of Arizona and the surrounding conditions. A train ride from Williams, AZ is another great way to experience the canon.
The southern edge of the Grand Canyon, the most popular and most visited part you visit at any time of the year. The road on the northern edge of the Grand Canyon is closed in winter due to snow.
3. San Francisco
This charming and picturesque west bank town is an ideal destination for couples, young people or families. Famous sights, charming streets, breathtaking views and flyers are part of what makes San Francisco a great place to visit.
Guests can walk through San Francisco Bay, visit Alcatraz, walk along the Golden Gate Bridge, walk past Fisherman's Wharf or climb the street to explore the city's location.
Summer or autumn is a great time to visit, but the weather here is mild and every moment of the year is nice.
4. Houston
Houston is the perfect city for friends to escape, a few retreats or a family vacation. With direct flights from cities in the United States and Canada, you can easily fly to watch sports games, walk through Houston's museum district, relax by the pool in one of the many luxury hotels and spend the night enjoying great food. Houston has become a hot place for food in the United States and is now known for its excellent cuisine.
If you want a relaxing but outdoor experience of the city, you can rent a bike and pedal through kilometers of paved paths in parks or on the streets of the city center. Rent a kayak and paddle the Buffalo Bayou in Buffalo Bayou Park.
In less than an hour, you'll be on the nearby beaches of Galveston, stopping on your way to the Houston Space Center.
5. Las Vegas
This beautiful city of light in the desert has a unique attraction and has attracted visitors for decades. Huge resorts, with all sorts of things you can see and do at any time of the year, it has a goal that attracts every one of the young people who come here to take their vows, families who just want to hang around the pool.
Entertainment options have been expanded, with some of the music industry's leading stars calling Las Vegas home and playing to a full audience every night. Cirque du Soleil offers another unique experience and of course every resort has a lot to entertain guests, from dancing fountains to an erupting volcano.
Once you fill the city, there's plenty to explore in the area, with the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Valley of Death National Park and Valley of Fire State Park within walking distance.
